No national football leagues this week... does that mean it's going to be a boaring week? Non the less. The players are having som relaxed days and the sponsors have used these days to close some goalkeeper signings.
And we will start with an official signing. Roberto Jimenez (Olympiakos). After flirting with Nike for a while, It's been the Mexican brand the ones to anounce that they have extended the contract with the Spanish goalkeeper. And so there is no doubt about it they have anounced it with the image of the day of the signing.
Although por the signing event, Rinat used the usual Kancerbero Samba gloves, they used the same even to anounce that the new model he will be using will be the new Rinat Fénix. Now we just need to know the colors.
The other big surprise of the week was that Keylor Navas has finally chosed the gloves he's going to wear for this season. After serveral weeks trainig with blackout nike boots and blakout Sells gloves, the big question was, which whom would he sign? From the outside I would say that there were at least 5 big brand in that were trying to sign him: adidas, Nike, Puma, New Balance and Sells. But now it seams like adidas in the one ahead on this race, since we've seen Keyor training the last days with the adidas ACE Pro Zones and the adidas X 15.1 boots.
We know that Roberto's signing is official and ,althoug we've seen Keylor Navas training with adidas, I would bet this chapter is not closed yet. Since De Gea finally did not arrive to Real Madrid, it's Navas who will be covering the goal and has all the papers to be in the starting line for this season with Real. And it's his moment to use this situation on his favor. Plus, the adidas gloves he is wearing is the stock model with no personalization, no customization and with the rubber zone in the palm. As you probably know, the gloves produced for professional goalkeepers don't used that rubber piece in the palm, since they don't need it. So I would say it's his first contact with adidas and a warning to the rest of brands.
