Many young players come in to buy futsal shoes and often ask us for tips for futsal goals, or you are field goalkeepers who want to move to the courts and need to know some tips to start stopping balls on the court. Well, for all of you and futsal lovers, let's find out those tips:

Agility and fitness

Talking to some coaches, they all agreed on this aspect and far from what it may seem, agility and fitness is vital when it comes to getting under the sticks and even more so in a sport as dynamic as futsal.

Going from side to side of the post to close the shot well or coming out quickly, are details that mark a match and that can make it clear whether or not we are a good goalkeeper for our team.

Reflexes

Although it is often confused with agility, it is not the same, as reflexes determine the speed with which we react to shots or moves made by our opponents.

It is very important to train them and have them always awake, it is an essential quality in a sport where we can receive shots from point-blank range in almost any game situation. A goalkeeper with good reflexes has a lot to gain.

Footwork and shooting

It is essential that a futsal goalkeeper knows how to play practically as if he were another player, it is important to support the ball to get out of pressure, as well as long serves with hands and feet on the counter-attack.

A goalkeeper with a good touch and a quick release is vital, and can win games if he is accurate in his play, so you can't live on saves alone.

Crossing

The star position and perhaps the most important one for the futsal goalkeeper, it is almost an obligation to know how to cross well in order to stop shots, penalties, double penalties, etc...

Lowering your feet and closing the shot is the main point of the cross, it is key in 1 vs 1 and by doing it well you can block shots and dribbles with much more success than simply ducking.  A position that we must execute to perfection.

Mindset

We end our list of tips with mindset, as it is perhaps the most important advice we can give you. Goalkeepers have to be mentally strong and never give up.

It's important to be in the right frame of mind and not lose focus, in such a small rink we can get shot at any moment, and we can't be caught off guard. Nor should we get down on ourselves for conceding goals, as this is the daily bread of goalkeepers, and we must count on it. So now you know, if you concede a goal, don't get down, get the ball out of the goal and be ready to stop the next shot.

And these are our tips for all those of you who are starting to be under the sticks on the futsal pitch. By following these tips you will surely make that leap in the goal and reach the next level! What is your key to being a good futsal goalkeeper?
