I'm going to talk about the new evoPOWER and I know I must be careful so you don't notice it's one of my favorite boots. I loved the evoPOWER 1.1, the evoPOWER 1.2 wasn't that good for me, but I'm again in love with the silo thanks to the 2016 evoPOWER 1.3.
What does the new Puma evoPOWER maintain comparing to the past generations? The first and most important element they keep using is the adapLITE material in the upper, a synthetic material, produced in Japan exclusively for Puma, which is important because this elastic material will only stretch backwards and forwards but never through the sides. That allows to flex the foot in both directions without giving up on fit.
One of the issues we had with the past evoPOWER generations was the touch with the ball. The adaplite turned out to be too slippery, especially in wet conditions. Puma already noticed that and that's why they decided to introduce the Grip tex technology in the 2nd generation of the evoPOWER. But with the new Puma evoPOWER 1.3 they improved this point a lot more in the entire upper.
Another important characteristic of Puma boots: the everFIT Cage. I guess you already know it pretty well but I think it's good to name it for those who start with this boot. This is a "cage" that wraps your foot providing support in all lateral movements, sharp cuts and turns that happen while your playing. This way boot and foot move in the same way.
Another important element that was present in the past generations and keeps on going with this last one is the intern foam. With the evoPOWER 1.2 model it was called AccuFOAM, but with this new model we don't have a name but it's still present and important, especially when we contact the ball.
So here is where the technology improvements end. Although that doesn't mean the the Puma evoPOWER 1.3 has't brought new things because we have an element that is a big upgrade: the outsole. We are talkin about a boot that can flex in both direction to provide the strike with extra power like what happens whit a golf swing.
But to make this effect controled and don't get injured, the oursole need to make a big effort to provide support. And the main element in this function is the new GSF technology(Gradual Stability Frame) located in the bridge foot area and very visible from the outside. This element is in charge of preventing the over flex of the plate avoiding torsions during the game.
The front portion combines to type of studs: we have black bladed studs that will give better traction in sprints and the yellow conical studs which make for smooth turns and cuts. Plus, between every stud line Puma introduces the DuoFlex technology which is the complete oposite to the GSF tech as it makes for a more flexible plate.
Conclusion, The Puma evoPOWER 1.3 is going to be the best balanced boot in the market. It's the best answer to all you guys looking for a power boot that keeps it lightweight.
