Football has changed radically, and we’re not just talking about football boots, but also the way the sport is played and the many facets it encompasses. A few years ago, we would never have imagined that the video game revolution would go this far, as ‘gaming’ players have become genuine media personalities, on a par with footballers. Our sport is about passion and dedication – something that comes from within. We can play it, watch it on our TVs, and even experience a FIFA LVP final from the comfort of our own living rooms. It’s all about FOOTBALL.
DUX Gaming has been one of the most talked-about esports teams. With the arrival of ‘DjMaRiio’ as team owner, the club experienced exponential growth, achieving a feat never before accomplished by any other esports team in Spain. This development had been in the pipeline for a long time and was achieved thanks to the help of new additions such as Thibaut Courtois and Borja Iglesias, who joined as brand ambassadors, whilst new partners managed to purchase a traditional football team, Inter de Madrid. This team currently plays in the Primera RFEF and is called DUX Internacional de Madrid. DUX Gaming has thus managed to break into traditional sports, reversing the trend that has been occurring for several years, where traditional teams are the ones entering the virtual world. But that is not all, as this year DUX has also entered women’s football by acquiring EDF Logroño, which will be renamed DUX Logroño from this season onwards.
In addition, Carles Santaló, better known as ‘Kolderiu’ – one of Spain’s leading FIFA content creators – has also joined the team. As well as his career in the video game industry, this young man is also a professional footballer who has sought out new challenges that allow him to combine his two passions.

Stephen Newman, President of DUX Internacional de Madrid, commented that “CF Internacional de Madrid has always sought to be a club that stands out, is innovative and, above all, supports good causes. Since our beginnings in the 3rd Regional Division, the club has managed to climb up to the Primera RFEF, the third tier of Spanish football. We are the only Primera RFEF club founded in the 21st century, competing against historic clubs such as Real Madrid Castilla, among others.
