adidas has presented the Manchester United home jersey for the 2018/2019 season. Jose Mourihno’s squad is ready to jump to the field for the next Premier League with a new look that adds again black details to the classic red of the Red Devils.
The Manchester United jersey for the 2018/2019 season
The new Manchester United jersey goes through the 140 years of history of the club from its foundation in 1878, when the name of the squad was Newton Heath Cricket and Football Club. It was born as the team of the Lancanshire and Yorkshire train station department, before accessing to the top professional English football division in 1892, changing its name 18 years afterwards for the name we all know now.
The lines on the bottom are a reference to train railways, a tribute to the foundation of the club, going through 140 of sports history. The design joins thus tradition and club history, obviously with the new technologies that adidas includes in the modern jerseys. The shirt is mostly red although the three adidas stripes over the shoulders and the details of the V-neck are black.
The shorts will be black, recalling, with a modern touch, the original colors of the 1878 squad, creating a distinctive blurry effect along with the basis of the shirt.
