It's only been a year since adidas and Nike took their track and field technology for the football boots, leaving to a side the classic materials, and using the woven material as the main material for the upper. adidas decided to use the base of the adizero F50 and build above it an upper with the Primeknit material creating the adidas Samba Primeknit. Do you remember it? It was an interesting idea, but Nike went a step forward creatin a boot up to the ankle covered with the NikeSkin technology. From that moment adidas seemed to step out of that race. But it wouldn't be like that. They just took some time to work on the original model and create a complete new one, maintaining the woven material but adapted to football. We present to you the new incredible Primeknit 2.0 from adidas.
First thing you'll notice is the high profile back heel. We tend to think that it's inspired in the boots from Nike, in the Dinamic Fit collar. But not even close, adidas made this high heel inspired in a running shoe that was a huge success a few weeks ago, the Ultra Boost, with an area that adjusts much better on our Achilles tendon adding protection and with a better distribution of the presure.
We'll find the biggest change is in the external material of the upper. The structure is still Primeknit, a woven material that has been a complete success in the running shoes thanks to it's elasticity and lightness, but to improve the touch with the ball adidas has added a super thin layer that cover the Primeknit meterial and makes for a better grip and durability.
The tongue is a key element in this boot. Although you won't apreciate it at first look, it is sealled to the plate of the outsole creating a one-piece sensation on foot with a compresive effect. Compression is an important element in lots of sports and we didn0t find a boot with this elements before. This is the biggest aspect that the Primeknit 2.0 brings to the market.
The outsole, just like in the past model, takes the outsole from the adizero F50 so we know it paying special attention to a good traction in agresive actions like dribbles, sprints, etc. The SpeedStud pattern is an evolution of the past Traxion 2.0 but with an extra traction in the center of the forefoot
One of the biggest issues with the past generation is that we only saw Luis Suarez wearing it in the football pitch. But this time, the player that are testing this boot is a much bigger number. We still need the confirmation but it seems like we'll see players such as Fabio Henrique Tavare (Monaco), Fernando Torres (Atlético de Madrid), Luis Suarez (FC Barcelona), Alvaro Morata (Juventus), Ezequiel Lavezzi (PSG), Lucas Moura (PSG), James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) and Juan Bernat (Bayern de Munich) wearing this model.
Starting today you can pre-order them in Soloporteros, and you won't have to wait too long because they will be available in our stores on April the 22nd.
