But this week we could find out why this was happening: Nike has prepared an exclusive boot for the Madeira star, but they didn't wan't to show them in a normal occasion, they wanted to show them in El Clasico between FC Barcelona - Real Madrid this weekend.
Know that we know why Cristiano Ronaldo was wearing the highlight pack it's time to get started with the details and motives of this new model that he will be wearing for the following months. We will start with the CR7 logo in the inside. Again we get this logo in the upper, and it's because the player wants to make clear that these boots are created exclusively for him.
The next thing, and most important, is the story behind this boot. It's the 8th editions of an exclusive Cristiano Ronaldo boot, and the color of the upper has a story to it, what does it look like?
The Metallic Silver color in the upper is inspired in the color of the trophies. The trophies of La Liga and the Champions League, two of the tournaments that Real is still in the fight for, have the same color as the CR7 boots. So when the Portuguese player knows he has to give 110% in a decisive moment of the game, he can find that inspiration looking down at his boots. He will be able to think of the prize that will come if he can lead his team to the victory.
The new Cristiano Ronaldo Mercurial Superfly has all the technical characteristics that he have seen in the past models worn by the Portuguese player, with the Flyknit material which is a thin thread that shapes the entire housing of the boot and extending to ankle forming the Dynamic Fit and getting leg Cristiano Ronaldo Mercurial Superfly and merge into a single element.
Boot zones supporting more stress are reinforced with inner filaments: the BRIO cables. This internal structure achieves, thanks to its elasticity, that the player's foot never twists and supports the preassure during the game. The Brio Cables are seen with the naked eye below the Nike Skin. By the way ... Did I say what Nike Skin is? This is an outer layer surrounding the Flyknit to provide grip to the boot, especially in areas that come in contact with the ball.
To finish reviewing the technical characteristics of the new Cristiano Ronaldo Mercurial Superfly I will talk about the outsole. Probably my favorite part of this boot: a biomechanical fancy element studied so far as how the footprint of a footballer works at full speed and has placed each stud so that the support in race will be maximum. And for that stability to never compromised, the studs are placed on a carbon fiber soleplate, an elite material : light, responsive and stable which make it the most advanced boot market.
