Nike Tech Craft // 2nd generation of football touch

After the success of the first Tech Craft Pack edition Nike has decided to maintain this nice habit: to join each collection with another leather pack. The skin has arrived to Nike... y it seems like it's going to stay here.

Is funny to watch how trends work in the football world. We are ending this 2015 year and the trend of the strong brands is focused in two subjects: in one hand we have the boots that are focused in high tech specs developing woven boots with different fabrics offering new sensations and covering that woven material with a synthetic layer. And in the other hand we can see that something that was about to disappear is back and strong: leather.

Lets focus on this second group, the leather boots, traditional methode but it started to go down in the early's 2000... But now in 2015 it comes stronger than ever. A few months ago Nike surprised us launching the Tech Craft Pack, but we thought this would be a limited pack and that we wouldn't see another collection. But since the 1st Tech Craf Pack was such a big success Nike has decided to continue with this pack in their collections. Key to this success? The excellent combination between the modern materials with the traditional touch that you get with leather.

MAGISTA OBRA TECH CRAFT

Flyknit is going to be the base that we can find in all stock models. The modifications comes with the exterior NikeSkin layer (which makes for a better grip and protection), it's been replaced with the natural leather layer. And if NikeSkin makes for a better touch with the ball, the leather just improves it to the next level. Differences with the stock model? The leather offers for a better touch with the ball, although we loose the NikeSkin that is waterproof. But with Magista, a boot made to provide good touch, it's probably the model that appreciated this leather layer.

MERCURIAL SUPERFLY TECH CRAFT

Just as what happens with Magista Obra, the Mercurial Superfly Tech Craft has the same base. Flyknit and interior BrioCables as well as the carbon fiber outsole which is one of the most important elements in the boot that is made for the speedster player. What do we get with the leather layer this time? a better touch a with the ball and an extra armed layer. It also has some inconveniences because this extra layer is going to add some weight to the boot which is a details that many fans of the model pay special attention to.

HYPERVENOM PHANTOM TECH CRAFT

Hypervenom is the model that is causing most controversy among professinal player. After testing the Hypervenom stock model and the Tech Craft model I can say without a doubt that I do appreciate to have that leather layer. The Hypervenom 2 does not provide the same sensations we had with the first generation which was a big success. the upper is stiff and you can notice that when bending the foot. Plus, the interaction with the ball is not as perfect as what Nike gave us with the first gen. So adding leather to the upper is going to improve the performance of this Hypervenom Phantom.
