In this new reality, in which our daily lives must (or at least should) be focused on protecting ourselves and others, and bearing in mind the latest concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus, the familiar face masks are taking centre stage, becoming one of the most important accessories in anyone’s daily life, but also in the daily life of any sportsperson, whether amateur, semi-professional or professional.
It is precisely for this reason, and because over the last few weeks the debate on the use of face masks whilst taking part in sport – as a protective measure for athletes in disciplines such as running – has become a hot topic, that today we would like to introduce you to the new product developed by the Spanish brand SP Fútbol.
SP Fútbol sports mask
This is a protective face mask designed for low-intensity aerobic sports activities. This SP Fútbol face mask helps to reduce the transmission of viruses and germs that can spread via droplets. It is made up of an outer layer comprising 95% polyester and 5% elastane, and an inner layer comprising 95% cotton and 5% elastane.
Among the manufacturer’s key instructions regarding this face mask, it is important to note that it has not been tested or certified as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), nor as a medical, care home or any other type of face mask intended to reduce exposure to airborne contaminants.
Its sole purpose is to complement the recommended physical distancing and hygiene measures. One particularly positive feature, which is especially important for athletes, is that this face mask can be washed up to 130 times whilst retaining its filtration efficiency.
