Lately, the work Nike has been doing with its non-elite ranges has been simply spectacular, and these boots could easily be high-end models from several years ago. However, let's take a look at the differences between the elite, pro and academy ranges.
Nike phantom Gx Elite football boots
We begin with the top-of-the-range boot, which features all the latest technologies. It has a two-part flyknit upper that separates the striking area from the part that fits the foot. The striking area is the key feature of this boot, as it incorporates Gripknit technology, which provides maximum grip on the ball in all weather conditions, as it is water-resistant.
On the sole side, we have a lower profile sole, which returns to a sole more typical of this silo, somewhat more flexible and with a mixture of conical, laminated and triad studs, to give us traction in every direction we take on the pitch.
It should be noted that there are two versions within this range: one version features the classic Nike collar, which on this occasion also incorporates Ghost laces technology that covers the laces and gives us an even cleaner look. The other version does not have the collar and gives us a more classic fit, leaving the laces visible.

Nike Phantom Gx Pro football boots
We come to the first drop in level where the boot's construction changes, leaving Flyknit aside to give us a two-layer boot again, but with Nikeskin on top. This is a technology we discovered in the previous Nike Hypervenom and which guarantees touch and grip.
The sole retains the same pattern and stud design, as well as the profile and grip. There are also two versions, one high and one low, without losing the Ghost laces option for the high boot, thus covering the lacing and maintaining that clean and subtle touch that comes with having the area clear.
In conclusion, this is a very, very good boot, made from exceptional materials (Nikeskin) that give us a professional option that will appeal to many at a very reasonable price.
Nike Phantom Gx Academy football boots
And we come to the end with an option that is simply brutal for the price. A boot once again constructed in microfibre, like the Pro, but which maintains the essence of the high end by incorporating a two-part construction.
In terms of grip, we once again have Nikeskin technology, with a slightly different and rougher finish than in the Pro version, but good enough to maintain grip and touch. Moving on to the sole, we have the same distribution and design as in all the ranges, which is much appreciated as many brands tend to change the sole completely in these ranges and sometimes lose the essence of the boot altogether, but fortunately, this is not the case here.
It also comes in high and low versions and with Ghost laces to cover the lacing. It is not made of the same material or fineness as the rest of the ranges, but it suits the style and range of the entire boot. A fabulous range for this price.
And that concludes our review of the entire range of the new Nike Phantom Gx, a comprehensive range with options to suit all budgets, each model hitting the mark and representing one of the best mid-range and entry-level ranges available today.
