Explore the Nike Motivation Pack

Pre-season is drawing to a close, making way for the start of the competitions, and Nike wants to ensure its footballers are ready for the occasion with the new Motivation Pack. White, yellow and orange will be bringing a splash of colour to football pitches around the world with this new Nike collection.

We’ll start by talking about the Nike Tiempo Legend football boots. The American brand’s leather range has changed colour for the fourth time in a month, which we personally don’t like, as we think the boots lose their essence with so many colourways in such a short space of time. 

But we’re not here to discuss the number of colours Nike uses in its boots, but rather how this particular colour suits the Tiempo 9. Nike is running out of ideas with these football boots; out of the four collections, three of them feature white as the main colour, and honestly, we think this is the colour that suits the Tiempo best. Admittedly, we haven’t seen them on anyone else yet, but we think the clean look that white gives this model will be difficult—very difficult—to beat. 

Moving on to the details, orange and yellow are the colours Nike has chosen for this new Motivation Pack, and they’ve got it spot on, as all the boots look great, aesthetically speaking, in this colour combination. But let’s talk about the Tiempo Legend football boots specifically. The new Swoosh on this model, which is just a month old, invites you to colour it in and make it the centrepiece, and that’s exactly what Nike has done. A fluorescent yellow gives the American brand’s logo the visibility it deserves, and, accompanied by the orange on the heel, turns this model into a visual marvel – or at least that’s how it looks to us. 

Moving on to the Phantom GT2 football boots and their new design. We’ve placed this model in second place because the colour scheme is exactly the same as that of the Tiempo Legend. White is the base colour, covering the boots entirely, complemented by orange and yellow on the lower part of the boot. We like the feel this colourway gives to a model that looks more serious than the other two from Nike, and we also really like the fact that the American brand has decided to use the same colours for both silos, as, whilst they aren’t the same boot, it will create a sense of uniformity on the pitch amongst the Nike players wearing them. 

Finally, we’ll be looking at the Mercurial football boots, in both the Vapor and Superfly versions. Mercurial stands out from the other ranges and has opted for yellow in this Motivation Pack. Nike’s speed boot is set to catch the eye of players and fans alike, and it will certainly do so with this new colourway, which will allow us to spot Mercurial players from a great distance. This colour looks spectacular on the Americans’ lightest boot, and that’s what Mercurial is all about: grabbing attention, breaking the mould and taking centre stage. That’s why, when you paint them in a bright, eye-catching colour, the true essence of Mercurial shines through more than ever.
