The German brand has dropped a bombshell. They may not look like it... but these boots really are something. The design is a direct descendant of those mythical adidas F50 Chameleon that were a real craze back in the day, both the originals and a modern re-edition that flew off the Futbol Emotion shelves.
White takes over base while purple accents populate the sides and other specific details, presenting us with a spectacular look that references Leo Messi's legacy in the history of football. These boots will be worn exclusively by the Argentinian player and possibly some younger players who take part in Leo's stellar legacy.
The boot is certainly a visual delight, but we're not talking just about aesthetics. These adidas F50 also come with some interesting technical modifications.
The upper is the same one Messi himself wears: the Hybridtouch upper stemming from those old F50 designs the Argentinian loved so much and that he still uses to this day.
The chassis feels really soft and smooth, providing extra comfort to an already pleasant boot. As a result, our touches will present more cushioning than the more generic F50 models.
It also brings us the mythical ‘burrito tongue’, which wraps around the foot and is only detached on one side. Messi has been using this type of tongue for years and we can finally find it available for everyone.
As for the outsole, the boot carries the same as the current adidas F50, as it guarantees a fast and comfortable traction.
