New adidas X Crazyfast + Strung

The German brand has presented a new boot design made from a completely different material to anything we've seen before. Let's take a look at the new limited-edition boot from adidas.

In front of us is the new Adidas technology for manufacturing football boots. It is not a new technology for the company, as it comes directly from the Adidas Running department. Development of the technology began in 2020 within the Futurecraft range (which means 'materials of the future'), and we currently see it in top-of-the-range models with the same surname (Strung).

This new technology is Strung: the new material used for the upper. Through a complex manufacturing system, the threads are fused together one by one to form the entire upper of the boot. The key lies in the process: this fusion can create tension, texture or roughness in different areas of the boot, giving designers incredible creative freedom.

In this case, the base of the adidas X Crazyfast 'Plus' has been used to create this football boot. As can be seen in the upper, there are areas with a lower amount of Strung, for example on the lateral side where holes can be seen, and areas with a higher accumulation of these threads, for example at the front to help durability and avoid wear.

That's it. Apart from a slight support in the laces, there's nothing else in the shell. It's just the Strung, which provides the boot with structure, durability and a good fit. You can also give the boot the exact shape you want.

So, friends, this is how we believe adidas will start bringing us the football boots of the future, as happened with the presentation of the adidas Samba, which introduced Primeknit to our lives, a technology that we now see in many boots from the German brand. In terms of feel, this boot retains the essence of the adidas X Crazyfast+, offering a minimalist upper with a similar weight, enhanced ball grip and increased strike reinforcement.

The outsole is the same as the adidas X and the material provides a slightly more responsive and supportive feel than the synthetic microfibre of the regular 'Plus' model.

In conclusion, this is a limited-edition boot. We have to understand that it is a beta version of what is to come in the future, presenting us with a new material that offers a new way of making football boots: more detailed, different and personalised than ever before. It seems that the strung is here to stay, friends.
