The model created for the player that causes chaos has experienced a generation update one year after it was launched for the first time. The boots worn by important players such as Gareth Bale, Marcelo or Luis Suarez have experimented a radical change, to be ready for the sporting events scheduled for this upcoming 2016 Summer.

adidas launches the Mercury Pack, where its 3 main models show a silver colour-way, the colour of trophies, that the German brand has used to motivate its players during the 2016 Euro cup, the Copa America and the Olympic Games.

Which are the most important changes? Well here they are:

What stands out the most on the X16+ Purechaos model is that we do not see any laces, which does not mean there are none. This model presents a one-piece upper that provides the boot with perfect fitting, just like an ankle sock, and it is equipped with a 3D finish with a scale pattern on the zones that make contact with the football.

The framework is made of the same material than the prior generation, synthetic microfibre of certain thickness, which protects the skin while at the same time, generates a comfortable sensation and combines the 3D finish with the NonStopGrip technology for better ball control under wet conditions.

Two aspects of the TechFit collar have also been modified: the shape is more aggressive and reminds us of the one we saw on the adidas Primeknit 2.0 model with a higher heel and a thicker material (this time neoprene). Thanks to this adidas is able to reduce pressure from the laces, yes, there are laces between the TechFit collar and the upper. Laces that remain covered and this way providing us with a larger surface to contact the ball with.

The adidas branding goes is now on the exterior side and the new outsole brings the Ultralight Sprintframe technology back with an external hell that provides you with more stability during dribbles and semi-conical cleats much less aggressive than the ones included on the previous generation which facilitate quick turns and add traction on maximum speed movements.
