Control and the rhythm of the game are essential to the concept and philosophy behind the Tekela range; that’s why this control over rhythm and tempo is akin to a DJ’s ability to control the atmosphere in a club – hence the inspiration.

This new football boot from New Balance will be a special edition, part of a collection of which there will be just 1,235 pairs worldwide, and which you’ll have the chance to buy via the Fútbol Emotion website. What would music be without its rhythm and speed? 1,235 is a magical number, as the American brand has chosen to pay homage to supersonic speed (1,235 km/h) with this new Tekela V2 Pitch Control.
The Tekela V2 ‘Pitch Control’ boots were launched with a video featuring rappers Big Zuu and Eyez, further highlighting that special bond between music and football. In terms of design, the new New Balance Tekela V2 lives up to its ‘limited edition’ title. A shimmering metallic silver-to-grey gradient on the upper is complemented by black detailing on the tongue and the iconic New Balance ‘N’, along with a subtle touch of red to further enhance this bold look.

Starting with the upper, we’ve seen a number of changes in terms of layout and fit compared to the first generation, but not in the materials used – which is a real success. The shell is still made from the same material as the previous generation, ensuring the boot’s snug fit and the comfort that was a hallmark of these football boots. The famous ‘kinetic stitch’ has also been retained; its pattern has been modified and is now spread across the entire area that comes into contact with the ball, providing the necessary grip without the need for coarse or rough elements.
Moving on to the details, we can see that the tongue area has also been modified; like in the previous generation, it remains an ‘all-in-one’ design. Together with the ankle area, it has been made smaller and ‘streamlined’, providing a better fit around the heel and ankle and securing them more effectively. It does, however, retain the padding around the laces to prevent pressure from the laces on the instep.
The lacing layout has also undergone slight changes compared to its predecessor, but these are quite significant, as the eyelets are no longer on the panel itself; instead, a stiffer section has been incorporated for the holes, which both improves the fit and helps prevent wear and tear on the upper material itself. In turn, the stitching that previously joined the lacing area to the tongue has also been modified and is now sealed, helping to prevent unnecessary wear and tear and improving the boot’s overall durability.
The plate retains the semi-conical studs, which are slightly more pronounced, giving us slightly more aggressive traction than in the first version. The torsion bridge has been redesigned to provide even greater support during lateral movements and changes of direction. These bridges, together with the asymmetrical distribution of the studs on the heel counter, will help provide maximum traction whilst better securing the entire heel counter area. Consequently, we have a sole that builds on the previous design, incorporating minor modifications that improve traction without compromising on comfort – the boot’s hallmark.
