New Nike Phantom GT

Nike has unveiled a pair of boots we’ve never seen before. These revolutionary boots nevertheless draw heavily on Nike’s history and incorporate many familiar technologies; we are, of course, referring to the new Nike Phantom GT.

Nike has today unveiled the new football boots that many players will be wearing. These are completely new boots that will surprise everyone and aim to win over as many players as possible, as they combine two models. This merger brings together the Phantom Venom and the Phantom VSN, which will now be discontinued, as no new Nike Phantom Venom or VSN models will be produced. The new boot is called the Nike Phantom GT and is, in fact, a fusion of the previous Phantom models. Many of the technologies found in those two boots are now combined into a single boot that aims to incorporate as many technologies as possible – and it succeeds perfectly. Today we’re going to take a look at them together.

Let’s start with the colour scheme. We’ve found a model with white as the base colour alongside two standout colours: black, which appears, for example, in small rubber details, and fuchsia, featured in the Nike logo. However, Nike has also catered for those looking for a more striking boot, as there is also a black option – a black that, on this occasion, serves as the base for the white and fuchsia.

Let’s move on to the technology. The upper is made from Flyknit, a very lightweight yet highly elastic material. Furthermore, the outer surface features small raised patterns that provide much better grip on the ball. We mustn’t forget the ever-present ACC (All Conditions Control Technology), which offers significantly more grip in all weather conditions. Furthermore, the laces are positioned in the same way as on the Phantom Venom boots – that is, offset to the side to leave the area that makes the most contact with the ball unobstructed.

We’ll finish with the outsole, a completely different design that pays homage to the original Total 90s. It’s a very lightweight outsole with laminated, tapered studs to provide excellent stability for the wearer. Finally, let’s talk about the colourway: a transparent shade that gives it a very elegant look.
