The new Puma football boots are exceptionally stylish and, as one would expect, are part of the highly sought-after trend of collaborations. This marks the second time we’ve seen this partnership; last May, we saw Antoine Griezmann debut the first edition with a goal against Eibar. This time, James Maddison, who plays for Leicester City, will be the main ambassador for this collection.
The sports brand PUMA and the Dutch lifestyle brand BALR have joined forces to develop a premium collection comprising football boots, training gear and lifestyle apparel that brings together the worlds of football, culture and lifestyle. Perhaps many football fans like me aren’t familiar with the BALR brand, as it is known for its cutting-edge fashion, travel products and accessories for men and women. Since its founding in 2013, the brand has been spotted on some of the world’s best footballers. PUMA x BALR: The collaboration combines the best of both brands – football performance and fashion – in a stylish, street-ready capsule collection.
Puma Future BALR football boot
Speaking about the new Puma football boots, BALR’s creative director, Demy de Zeeuw, said: “Football is the dominant cultural influence for millions of people around the world, and the game extends beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. Our collaboration with PUMA is for those who live and breathe football and show just as much style on the pitch as off it.”
Tecnologías Puma Future
Despite being a limited edition Puma Future Le BALR, there are no technological differences compared to the standard collections. A 100% customisable boot that adapts seamlessly to any foot shape; we have no hesitation in saying it is one of the best boots of the current generation. The upper features a dramatic change in design and layout compared to its predecessor. The wavy lines of the previous generation have disappeared, replaced by a square-patterned design that extends across the upper of this Puma Future 6.1 football boot.
As we described in the Puma Fear Pack post, they were created to provide a boost halfway through this challenging year of 2020. A true statement of intent, designed to give the competition a run for their money. The Puma Future football boots are, as their name suggests, the future. Starting with the upper, we see a dramatic change from the Puma Future 4.1 football boot of the previous generation and absolutely none from the earlier 5.1. We can see that there is no longer as much mesh in the NETFIT, and there are fewer lace holes, with laces now positioned only where necessary. Furthermore, they feature a much more adaptable NETFIT support system, with a fully woven upper for a better fit and stability, and a GripControl Pro Layer applied to the areas most frequently struck by the ball, in the form of grooves.
One of the key features of the Puma Future football boot is its lightness; to achieve this, it features a reactive Pebax plate with RapidAgility technology, stabilising bars across the instep, and a combination of laminated and conical studs to ensure traction in all conditions, supporting explosive, multi-directional movement.
