Raheem Sterling is the new face of New Balance Football
A new sports sponsorship deal has been announced between New Balance Football and a top-tier international player. This time, the star of the show is Raheem Sterling, the Manchester City footballer, who is joining the Boston-based brand to become one of its leading global ambassadors. With this move, the brand is strengthening its presence in elite football and seeking to instil even greater confidence in the sport’s fans, committing to an increasingly ambitious and aggressive marketing strategy. In this way, New Balance continues to grow internationally and consolidate its expansion in the global football market.

This new sponsorship deal will link the sports brand with the England international striker both on and off the pitch. Raheem Sterling is a role model both in Manchester and across much of the country. From his early days playing football in the suburbs of Brent to becoming the world-class footballer we know today, Raheem’s journey is a source of inspiration for the next generation of football fans and players alike.
Raheem Sterling – New Balance ambassador on and off the pitch
According to Raheem Sterling himself, his move to New Balance Football is more than just a sporting partnership. The Manchester City player is known for the many goals he pursues both on and off the pitch, and he has stated that the American brand will be the ultimate platform for achieving those goals. For the brand, it has been crucial to recognise Raheem’s ability to transcend sport and extend his influence beyond football stadiums. The English international’s prominent and highly influential role will enable the impact on other areas of New Balance—such as lifestyle and even the design of new products and campaigns—to reach a level never before seen within the Boston-based firm.
In the words of Chris Davis, New Balance’s current Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Merchandising:
“At New Balance, we believe that our ambassadors truly reflect the brand’s values. For this reason, this new partnership must go far beyond football and be about so much more than the sport itself.”
An example of this new partnership and the approach the brand aims to take across all areas of its business was Raheem Sterling’s debut campaign: “Done Just Talking”. The campaign was launched as part of New Balance’s global “We Got Now” platform and featured a production team made up entirely of teenagers from ReachOut UK, a charity that supports young people from disadvantaged communities across the UK.
The new three-time Premier League champion will be seen on the pitch wearing his new New Balance Furon v6+ boots as early as his next official match. A pair of NB Furons made especially for him.
