RCD Mallorca, Nike and Fútbol Emotion have signed a new five-season agreement with the option of two extensions. The contract includes sponsorship, as well as retail, e-commerce and merchandising management of the Mallorcan club's physical stores and online shop by Fútbol Emotion. Additionally, the collaboration includes the opening of a new 300 m² store at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, an increase from the current 70 m².
Alfonso Díaz, the CEO of RCD Mallorca, explained what this agreement means for the club: 'This agreement was in place with both Nike and Fútbol Emotion. A couple of seasons ago, we started with a four-year agreement, but we have seen the great results of this alliance with two leading brands in their respective sectors. This has led us to rethink how we can continue to grow together, resulting in a new agreement. A new agreement for the next five seasons. It starts now, in the 2023/24 season, and will last until the 2027/28 season. There is also the possibility of extending the agreement by another two seasons. This powerful alliance with two major brands will enable us to continue growing as a club.'
Alfonso Díaz also explained how he envisages this collaboration: 'It is a 360-degree agreement where the sponsorship element remains the same as before with Fútbol Emotion for training clothing, and our technical equipment sponsor remains Nike. An important change is the management of our stores, in terms of both retail and e-commerce. All of this will lead to improvements in sales and merchandising."
As the CEO of RCD Mallorca highlighted, one of the major new developments will undoubtedly be the new shop at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix. 'As part of the stadium renovation plans, one of the major milestones was to open a new shop. It will be in keeping with the club's image. It caters for our increasingly demanding fans. We have broken sales records. This season's shirt has been particularly successful. We are sure that this success will continue in the coming seasons, but we needed a new space to make it happen — that space will be the new store. It will be a large store of more than 300 square metres. It will be open and bright, and we will be able to display all our kits and products with pride," said Díaz.
Carlos García, Chief Teamsales Officer at Fútbol Emotion, defined the essence of the company: 'It is a company that has been involved in football for over twenty years. In addition, Carlos García pointed out the objective of this agreement for Fútbol Emotion: 'We are transferring our expertise in retail and e-commerce, backed by years of experience and data, to the world of fans and professional clubs.
