If you’d like to take part in ‘In Search of the Goalkeeper of the Future’ but have some queries, you can read this post. As well as your own questions, you can find answers to many others in the following post. Here are the most frequently asked questions. They are as follows:

  1. Can I register for more than one venue?
Yes, each participant can register for as many venues as they like, but they may only attend the casting once at each venue.
  2. Is there a fee for the event?
No. The event is completely free of charge, both for participants and those accompanying them. This does not include additional expenses such as accommodation, food, transport, etc.
  3. What equipment should I bring on the day of the event? / How should I dress on the day of the event?
Participants must be properly kitted out in goalkeeper kit. It is recommended that you attend the trial wearing a shirt and shorts, socks, boots with rubber studs and goalkeeper gloves. The wearing of a tracksuit top, rain jacket, cap, etc. is considered optional and is left to the participant’s discretion, allowing them to wear the kit they feel most comfortable in for the training sessions.
  4. Where should I wear my race number during the event?
The race number must be visible at all times and worn on the front of each participant’s body. It is recommended that it be worn on the chest.
  5. If a participant is unable to go to the shop to collect their race number, at what time will they collect it? At what time will they take part?
The only participants who are exempt (though they may still go to the shop) from having to visit the shop to collect their race number are those who do not live in the same province as the one where the event is taking place. These participants must be at the venue where the event is taking place by 9.00 am – that is, one hour before the start of the event – to collect their race number, and will take part at the time allocated to them by the organisers.
  6. If a participant is unable to collect their race number from the shop, can someone else collect it on their behalf?
Yes, they can collect it by showing the participant’s registration confirmation and a photocopy of their ID card.
  7. Until when can I collect my race number from the shop?
A participant can collect their race number from the relevant shop up to 24 hours before the start of the event.
  8. What should I do if I lose my race number? Can I get another one?
If a participant loses their race number, they must go to the venue at 9.00 am on the day of the event to collect a replacement. In this case, the participant will retain the start time previously allocated to them.
  9. Can parents be on the pitch?
No, only goalkeepers are allowed on the pitch. Parents and accompanying adults will have a designated area from which to enjoy the event.

  10. When will I find out the timetable and venue details for each location?
We will email this information to all registered participants up to 48 hours before the event begins. We will endeavour to make the venue details publicly available on the website as soon as possible, and each participant’s performance slot will be published 48 hours before the event. Once the venue details are made public, we will be able to announce whether the event will take place on a natural or artificial grass pitch.
  11. Where will my playing slot be published?
Each participant’s playing slot will be published on the official website between 24 and 48 hours before the event. An email containing this information will also be sent to each registered participant.
  12. What happens if it rains on the day of the event?
In the event of rain, snow, wind or other adverse weather conditions, the event will go ahead as normal unless such conditions make it impossible to play football. In this case, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event.
  13. Can I leave my clothes in the changing rooms?
The organisers will provide changing rooms so that participants can get changed and prepare for the event. Each participant is responsible for their own belongings, and the organisers accept no liability for any loss.
  14. Can I have a shower in the changing rooms?
Yes, at all venues, participants will have access to shared changing rooms where they can get ready for the event and have a shower afterwards.
  15. How will we know which changing rooms are designated for girls?
Girls will have their own changing rooms, which will be clearly signposted. In any case, should you have any queries, event staff will be on hand to assist all participants.
  16. Can I compete in a higher age category than my own?
Yes, participants may compete in a higher age category if they wish, but never in a lower one.
  17. If I don’t play for a football team, can I take part?
Yes, anyone under 23 can take part, whether they are a goalkeeper or a player, whether or not they are registered with a football association, and whether their sport is football or any other.
  18. I’ve made a mistake with some of my details when registering. How can I sort this out?
If you have entered your name or any other participant details incorrectly, you can rectify this by sending an email to formacion@futbolemotion.com
  19. Who will decide who qualifies?
A panel of judges comprising goalkeeping coaches from Spain’s top teams, goalkeeping coaches from the country’s leading youth academies, and professional goalkeepers and former goalkeepers.
  20. When will I find out if I’ve made it through to the second round?
At around 2 pm, once all participants have finished their sessions, the judging panel will reach a verdict and announce those who have qualified for the afternoon round, which will begin after the lunch break.

The organisers reserve the right to decide the number of participants per team based on the total number of entrants at each venue.
  23. What make and model are the balls?
The official ball for the event will be the Mussa SP.
  24. If I am one of the three winners in my category at a venue, when do I go to the final stage?
The winners of the senior category from each venue will be based in Madrid during the final event on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of June. The winners of the other categories from the various venues will arrive on the 22nd of June at the final venue in Madrid.
  25. Does Futbol Emotion cover travel to Madrid for the final phase?
No, each participant is responsible for their own travel costs to both the initial venues and the final; Futbol Emotion never covers these costs.
