For fans of football boots, it’s no longer a surprise to see Nike producing all-black boots. In fact, many of us eagerly await the American brand’s models dressed entirely in black. It is a colour combination that gives Nike models a distinct look, an aesthetic which, thanks to its simplicity and elegance, drives both fans of the American brand and lovers of black boots wild. However, we’ll have to wait to see the new Mercurial Dragonfly in this new colourway, as so far we’ve only seen the Phantom GT and the Tiempo Legend, although Nike will soon be unveiling its new speed boots with this new look too. So yes, in today’s blog we’ll be looking solely at the Nike Tiempo Legend and the Nike Phantom GT.

Now we will have a quick look at Nike’s most iconic football boot and explore all the technologies it features. The boot’s standout feature is undoubtedly the upper, crafted from extremely soft, top-quality leather that will mould to your foot like a second skin. We also find Quadfit, a technology that stabilises the foot inside the boot and aims to minimise any harmful movement that could lead to injury. Aesthetically, the colour scheme fits perfectly with the concept presented by Nike. We see a classic, elegant boot with touches of blue and red that make it stand out a little more.

Let’s now turn our attention to the new model that has merged the Phantom Venom and the Phantom Vision to create the GT. In terms of colouring, we see the same colour scheme as the Tiempo, with black as the dominant colour, though leaving just enough space for the light blue and yellow to stand out and make the combination truly spectacular. In terms of functionality, this is a versatile boot, designed for all types of players. It features a Flyknit upper, which makes the boot just the right weight, and incorporates textured patterns that provide the grip we need. The lacing system is offset to the outside, allowing for a flawless striking technique, free from any hindrance. Finally, the outsole, inspired by that of the classic Total 90, offers both stability and traction thanks precisely to its design.
