Without a doubt, this brand – founded and based in Toledo – is one of the best and most reliable brands of futsal shoes. As we always say here at Fútbol Emotion, we are very proud that a Spanish brand such as Joma consistently ranks amongst the top three in this highly competitive market. This is not just down to the price, of course; its high quality also makes it one of the best options for futsal players. We mustn’t forget that absolutely every aspect of modern football has been modernised, and futsal is no exception. We are living in an era where technology is making its way into our football boots and futsal shoes; fortunately for the more traditionalists, the more avant-garde, and even those who prefer a blend of the two approaches, there is a place for everyone within this Spanish brand. The best example is this new Joma Cancha futsal shoe.
Technical features: Joma Cancha
The first thing to note about the upper is the material it’s made from. Unlike its sister model, the Joma Top Flex, which is made from natural leather, the Joma Cancha features an ultra-soft and flexible synthetic leather upper, providing perfect contact with the ball – whether you’re ready to shoot or to keep the futsal ball close to your foot. This shoe reminds us that we’re looking at a classic-style boot. That is, provided we look at the toe area, as the new Joma Cancha features the traditional reinforced section in the form of stitching – a technique that has been used for decades across all kinds of sports. Joma is on top of everything, and thanks to its expertise, it prevents the classic problem of the material peeling away by using a small piece of synthetic material bonded to the leather via heat-sealing in the toe area.
We haven’t forgotten about the upper of this shoe just yet. Let’s move on to discuss one of the most interesting areas to look at. Earlier we mentioned that, if we looked at the toe box, we’d see a shoe with a classic design; well, now it’s quite the opposite, as the sides of the shoe feature panels with Ventilation System technology, which is combined with a mesh to make it lighter and more breathable, reinforced with side straps that provide rigidity, capable of withstanding all the lateral movements that are so common in futsal. This is where we see the blend of modern and classic design elements.
One of the most important features for a futsal player is the sole. We’ve moved on from the traditional one-piece sole plate to see how, in this shoe, it’s constructed in two distinct parts, with numerous rubber flex lines and a multitude of perforated hexagons distributed across the sole for greater responsiveness, grip and lightness.
The material that runs across the sole is known as Flexagon, which is also integrated throughout the entire midsole. Although it is built on a Phylon base, Flexagon provides a higher level of responsiveness. That is why we can count the most skilful players on the courts amongst its flagship users, as Flexagon ensures that all the impacts we receive on the courts are distributed evenly across the entire sole, meaning that our heels and forefoot – the areas that usually suffer the most – are subjected to much less stress.
We’ll finish with a heel counter that’s quite common in Joma futsal shoes, as it’s integrated into the boot itself, designed to withstand the most aggressive moves typical of our sport. We didn’t want to leave out of this post the message from Joma on this shoe, running along the laces: THE BEST LEAGUE OF THE WORLD. In this Joma Cancha boot, we see a sense of pride in our LNFS, asserting exactly what it is: THE BEST FUTSAL LEAGUE IN THE WORLD.
