After winning promotion from 2a B to 2a División, Joaquín Peiró took charge of an exciting project for Granada and the president, Alfonso Suárez Medina, wanted to give him the necessary tools. They ended up signing Lalo Maradona, as, in the words of Diego Armando, ‘he was the best of the three brothers’. To raise funds for his signature, they organised a match against Swedish side Malmo, a match that left the unforgettable sight of ‘El Pelusa’ scoring a goal in a Granada uniform. A snapshot that fans still remember to this day. The 1987 Granada CF jersey commemorates that moment.
