Many of you will already have heard and seen this: there are many of us who are delighted and overjoyed at Liverpool’s league title victory. A team made up of spectacular players who, in just over three years, have managed to make history, reaching two Champions League finals and winning one of them. And, finally, they have won the English league again – a title that a club like Liverpool had gone far too long without winning. What’s more, many of the players in this squad, as well as winning titles with Liverpool, have also won the Copa América and other individual honours, such as the award for the world’s best player, which went to Virgil van Dijk. The only major setback this season for Klopp’s team was that Champions League tie against Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.
But this isn’t the only news we’ve had over the last few days. The transfer market is starting to heat up, and big names are already emerging who will undoubtedly take centre stage during the next transfer window. Meanwhile, we can already confirm some major moves, such as that of the Spaniard Pedro – one of the few players to have won every major European title – who is set to join Roma. There is also the swap deal that has sent shockwaves through the market and which will undoubtedly be the talk of the town: Juventus and Barcelona are reportedly interested in swapping two top-class midfielders, Pjanic and Arthur. A swap in every sense of the word that could benefit both clubs. Another top-class name being linked with several clubs is Thiago Silva. The Brazilian defender’s contract with PSG is coming to an end, and both Fiorentina and Milan are said to be very keen to secure his services. We’ll have to wait and see how the story unfolds.
