Nike introduces the 2019/2020 Chelsea 3rd kit

And here’s the latest jersey from the Blues for this Premier League season. We’ll see if this new design helps Chelsea reach the very top.

The London club has always been known for its daring designs, and this time is no exception with its third kit, which breaks the mould of Premier League football kits and brings back a distinctly nineties style for all the fans cheering from the Bridge.

The black jersey gives the kit a completely fresh look by incorporating small touches of orange and white. Furthermore, set against the midnight black of the jersey, we can see the ‘CFC’ lettering – which stands for ‘Chelsea Football Club’ – spread across the front and back of the kit, adding yet another detail to this jersey.

The standout feature of this kit is the collar, which revives that polo-style look with a double collar – very ’90s – and even features the old Nike logo from that era, with ‘Nike’ in small letters and the Swoosh underneath; a real design detail that gives this fantastic jersey plenty of character.

The rest of the jersey retains the Chelsea crest in its usual place, with the sponsorship logo featured on the centre front and sleeves, where we can also see orange and black trim, just as on the collar, bringing the design into harmony with the rest of Frank Lampard’s side’s kit.

On the technical side, the jersey features the American brand’s Vaporknit technology, which, as well as being lightweight, helps to wick away sweat more effectively, thereby keeping us cool and dry for as long as we wear it. The fit, as with all football kits, is relatively slim, whilst the smaller size is slightly looser and made from Dri-Fit. The kit is accompanied by a pair of shorts, also entirely in black, which complete the dark look for the London side.

This is Chelsea’s new jersey – a simply sensational one with special details that also brings back that 90s look, which we see so much of on the streets these days and which it seems we’ll now be seeing on the pitch as well. What’s your favourite Chelsea kit?
