adidas Copa Sense vs Copa Pure

We have a new edition of the adidas Copa boot, and we are going to take a look at the differences between the new model and the old one. Let's get started.

The first thing to note is that these models change quite a bit. While we sometimes have boots that are relatively consistent, this is not the case here. So get ready, because there are twists and turns ahead.

Let's start with the upper, and we have to say that the new model takes a significant step forward, as we have more natural leather. We don't have that snug feeling that knit materials give us, but in a leather boot with the Copa name, this is a step in the right direction. In the last model, we only had a small portion at the front which, although functional and comfortable, left us wanting a little more leather.

That said, technologically speaking, both are practically the same. Fusionskin is still used to connect the knit with the leather part, and the famous pods are integrated, but in a different way.

These new pods do away with those broad, robust shapes and give us a much more subtle foam inclusion, which honestly reminds us a lot of what we saw in the old adidas adipure, for example..

Here it's a matter of taste. If you like a looser fit, the previous generation was closer to that. However, if you prefer a more subtle and clean fit, the new generation will be a hit

The shape of the boot has also been modified. Friends of the fit, the new generation of Copa has a lower profile as the external heel counter has been removed. This point may be much more controversial, as many people preferred and liked the external heel counter reinforcement of the Copa Sense. On the other hand, if you prefer a lower profile and a less aggressive heel counter, the Copa Pure is the boot for you.

Moving on to the sole, we see a complete overhaul. Gone are the somewhat hard and reactive semi-conical studs we saw in the Copa Sense.

On the contrary, we have the sole of the old adidas Nemeziz. It is a reactive, lightweight plate that combines the perfect traction of semi-conical studs with studs that grip a little more than those of the previous Copa.

In conclusion, we have two natural leather boots that are comfortable and have a good touch. If you are looking for a boot with more grip, a sturdier feel and a more robust sole, the Copa Sense is a better option. However, if you want more natural leather, more lightness, and a simply pure feel, the new adidas Copa Pure boots are the choice. Which ones do you prefer?
