After travelling to Milan for the presentation of ULTRAWAVE technology and meeting Neymar at the launch of the new Puma Future Z boots, Puma has surprised us once again with another trip. This time our destination was London, where we were treated to a preview of the four national team shirts sponsored by Puma for the Women's Euro Cup, which will be held in the English capital. In addition to unveiling the kits for the four teams (Poland, Italy, Iceland and Switzerland), we got our hands on the Puma boots that will be used during the tournament and, to top it all off, we also had the opportunity to chat with Cristiana Girelli, striker for Juventus Women and the Italian national team.
‘It's really beautiful, special, vintage and original. It will be an honour to wear it at the Euro. Seeing the crest and design on the Puma jersey makes us even prouder to wear it. It's incredible that a brand like Puma has created a design like this, managing to represent an entire nation.’ And how can we disagree? The jersey, in collaboration with Liberty, features a floral pattern that perfectly matches the blue colour of the national team's kit. It is completed with a round neckline featuring the unmistakable tricolour, which gives the jersey its identity along with a retro touch.
‘White represents purity, and accompanied by flowers, the boot is very original and special, as well as being very comfortable.’ This is how Cristiana presents the new Puma Ultra from the Liberty Pack. Obviously, it doesn't come alone; in fact, the collection developed together with Liberty also launches a new colourway of the Puma Future. Both boots are dressed in a very elegant white with a floral graphic design. The boots are not yet on sale, but we are sure they will sell out quickly, as this is the most beautiful pack of the season.
After discussing jerseys and boots, we focused on the Euro, asking Cristiana about her expectations and how she viewed the team going into the tournament. "We want to have fun without taking anything for granted. Taking to the pitch representing an entire nation is a huge responsibility; it's always exciting and magical, it's hard to explain. The men's victory at Euro 2020 motivates us. We would like to convey those same emotions again by having the opportunity to play in such a big competition."
Finally, the national team's top scorer told us some interesting facts about her jersey collection. "I like to swap jerseys with the players I play against, and I actually have quite a large collection. However, I keep the ones I have a special connection with, such as the one from my debut with the national team, special matches or decisive goals. I have both my own and other girls' jerseys. I hope that the new Puma jersey for the national team will soon become my favourite!"
Finally, we would just like to thank Puma for this incredible opportunity, as well as Cristiana, wishing her the best of luck. ‘Forza Azzurre!’
