adidas Predator Mania remake

The German brand brings us a remake of the most influential boots in football history.

It was 2002 when adidas launched the new generation of its flagship silo. At the time, they didn't know it in Germany, but they were about to change the history of football boots forever. Predator was a silo that added value to all the players who wore it on the pitch, and being a Predator player put you at the top of the media pyramid.

Players of the calibre of Raúl, Zidane and Del Piero became the most iconic ambassadors for this range, all of them overshadowed by English footballer David Beckham, who made Predator Mania his boot of choice. His image, which transcended football to become a media icon, accompanied by a peculiar way of placing the tongue, made millions of people around the world want the Englishman's boots, to wear them in the same way David did.

Today, adidas brings us the remake of remakes, a faithful reissue of the adidas Predator Mania football boots in their original colours, or in other words, the most coveted treasure for any sports footwear lover.

Let's start with the upper, where there are no differences from the original model. The three-stripe brand has brought us exactly the same materials we had in 2002, including a predator element which, together with the tongue, was the distinguishing feature in the design of the adidas Predator Mania football boots. Speaking of the tongue, it was incorporated with the intention of hiding the laces underneath and thus avoiding any interference when in contact with the ball, but the possibility of positioning it in different ways made it a much more aesthetic than functional element.

To discuss the differences between this remake and the original adidas Predator Mania football boots, we need to look at the sole. As we have seen on other occasions, the German brand includes the current sole from the silo that most closely resembles that of the remake, and this time is no different. The plate found in this reissue is the same as that of the current adidas Predator Edge football boots, but with one peculiarity: they have only been manufactured with an SG sole, so if you were planning to use them on artificial turf, I'm sorry to say that you won't be able to.

That's all about the remake of remakes, football boots that sold out within 90 seconds of being launched on the Fútbol Emotion website.
