It is common knowledge that Puma aims to become the leading sports brand in the world of football, and having its logo featured on the league ball was a great way to make that known. This marks the third season in which the German brand has been responsible for creating the LaLiga ball. There were many doubts at first, but the reality is that Puma has managed to make an element that had previously, under other brands, been the subject of much controversy, go unnoticed.
The Accelerate is a football that delivers exactly what our sport needs; both players and goalkeepers have expressed their approval of it, which has led Puma to simply give a makeover to something that already works. A design inspired by manga culture, featuring orange and red detailing against which the black feline logo stands out – colours that are sure to catch the eye of fans once the league ball starts rolling.
Puma accelerate 2021 - 2022 football
In terms of technology, it is FIFA-approved, guaranteeing the highest level of performance, and incorporates the latest technology developed by Puma. The footballs are high-frequency moulded for excellent shape retention, durability and reduced water absorption. A unique 8-panel configuration reduces the number of seams, resulting in larger panels for better contact with the ball. A 1.2 mm 3D-textured PU surface is integrated to improve aerodynamics and increase resistance to abrasion and wear, resulting in greater durability. We continue to use a newly developed POE foam to improve feel by increasing sensitivity, providing a firmer touch, improved bounce consistency and explosive power. Both colourways offer excellent trajectory visibility and explosive speed.
This is the new LaLiga match ball for the 2021–22 season, which is set to bring equal parts joy and heartbreak over the coming campaign – another fine piece of work from Puma, which continues to prove it can rise to the occasion when the situation demands it.
