New adidas Copa Icon

Adipure, is that you? Adidas launches this special edition Copa that blends classic and modern concepts, resulting in a wonderful product. The white and gold colours lend an air of class and distinction, two words that fit perfectly with these Copa Icon boots.

There are different values that make a brand stand out. The most important one is the ability to be recognised without seeing the name, logo or slogan, and no one can compete with adidas in that regard. When we think of the first adidas football boots, we think of a black base with three white stripes, something as simple as it is brilliant, and something that anyone who sees it will immediately identify with the German brand.

But why is it important? Well, it's simple: because adidas has just brought us a modernised classic, an update of the first football boots that the brand launched on the market. And although the colours have nothing to do with the typical black and white, the concept is absolutely the same: a leather boot with laces featuring the three most famous stripes in football history.

Copa Icon is a reinterpretation of simplicity, a boot made entirely of leather and constructed in three parts. The first and most important part is the upper, which features high-quality leather that provides ball contact unmatched by most other boots on the market. The second part consists of a piece, also made of natural leather, which starts in the lower middle area of the adidas Copa Icon football boots and covers the entire heel counter, providing support and stability.

The last of these three parts is located in the central area, where we find a classic tongue accompanied by lacing, with the adidas logo standing out at the top. This is dyed a wonderful gold colour on a white background in a separate piece that the brand has decided to sew onto the tongue, a seam that, in addition to providing a beautiful finish, fits perfectly with the Copa Icon concept.

In terms of aesthetics, it's impossible not to see these adidas football boots and automatically think of the Adipure, one of the silos that I used in all its generations and which, honestly, adidas should have kept alive for many more years. We know that gold on a white base always works, but when you combine it with the retro feel and class of these adidas Copa Icon football boots, the result is simply sensational.

Moving on to the functional aspect, adidas once again brings us football boots designed and manufactured for competition. In addition to all the materials mentioned above, we once again have a modern plate, although to the surprise of many, it is not the one used in the current generation of adidas Copa Sense football boots, but rather the one used in the now extinct adidas Copa 19.
