New Balance Tekela v3 Pro LL

New Balance’s new laceless football boot hits the market with a vigour and character never seen before. The American brand’s first laceless boot is here to stay – it’s not just here to provide ‘mere’ competition. Today we’re going to take a closer look at all its new features and why this boot is truly shaping up to be a strong contender for the biggest story of 2020.

The New Balance boots are, without a doubt and for now, this year’s star launch. Yes, we know, and we’ve mentioned this before; what a copy of adidas! No, lads, it’s not a copy at all. There’s a word that perfectly defines what happens in the world of marketing, including, of course, the world of football boots, and that is ‘benchmarking’. This involves taking something that already existed—especially from the competition—and improving it. We’d like to remind you that even if you think adidas’s first laceless football boots were the first of their kind, you’re mistaken. No, adidas wasn’t the first to make laceless football boots; it was Lotto, bringing the incredible Lotto Zhero Gravity to the market in 2006. This shows us that the market is constantly evolving, a real treat for anyone who loves football boots, because as we all know, if there’s one thing New Balance is known for, it’s doing things really well.

New Balace Tekela v3 Pro – The latest to join the lace-free trend

With each passing day, New Balance is further cementing its commitment to football through its brand. It is now clear that the American brand’s primary focus lies in the development of high-end football boots and futsal shoes, designed for the world’s top football and futsal leagues. Today we’re here to talk about the latest generation of one of its boots, the New Balance Tekela V3, the first laceless boot, which has left the world speechless.

A market dominated by two brands means the rest have to work much harder, offering the public an attractive and functional product, with the clear aim of winning them over through superior quality. We recall that the first generation of the Tekela range stood unrivalled at the top of the rankings for the best boots in 2018. When we talk about alternatives, we mean giving ourselves the chance to choose between different options or solutions, ruling out the well-known boots that dominate the control category; THIS SHOULDN’T BE THE CASE! We fail to realise the enormous potential that other brands have in their collections; we’re missing out on true marvels of football engineering, such as this New Balance Tekela.

Technical features: New Balance Tekela v3

Here we have boots designed for the artists of the game – for those who aren’t afraid to keep the ball at their feet and who, moreover, enjoy and prefer to feel as much contact with it as possible. These New Balance Tekela v3 boots come in a primary colourway of Navy Eclipse and Silver Metallic. The striking zone of this laceless boot features a 3D weave made with kinetic stitch technology and foam to provide greater softness, in a range of colours: orange, chromatic yellow, atomic, neo crimson and flames.

One of its major innovations is its laceless upper, which is designed entirely for players who want a boot free from distractions. We can see how the boot is completed with the aforementioned 3D-printed pattern. The new KINETIC STITCH technology returns in this third generation; powered by an algorithm, it is exclusively incorporated into the technology, giving it a high-resolution finish and even greater visibility of its striking zones.

The upper is made entirely from Hipoknit, a much softer yarn/knit that allows the player to adjust the boot to their feet as perfectly as possible. These boots are designed to provide the player with stability and comfort unlike anything seen before in previous New Balance boots. The new Tekela boots are undoubtedly designed for all types of athletes, yet they have been designed and manufactured to the specifications of elite professional athletes. The outsole features a lighter nylon chassis and multi-directional TPU studs, which will significantly increase traction on the pitch and aid the player’s acceleration on firmer surfaces.

The internal heel counter ensures that stability and support are never an issue; it’s ready and raring to go, just as its design philosophy suggests. Turns, sprints and changes of pace are all made possible, of course, by the combination of this feature and the sole. We tend to get carried away focusing on the sole’s responsive flex, when in reality it isn’t always a key factor. Unlike its sister boot, the New Balance Furon, the Tekela features a more flexible plate but retains a stabilising bridge to prevent unwanted twisting.

• Upper made entirely from Hipoknit yarn, featuring a single layer of stretch fabric in the area with the most contact with the ball.

• Multi-directional stud configuration, set in a nylon sole for an incredibly comfortable feel and above-average stability.

• K-Stitch technology incorporated into the striking zones, with a 3D weave finish created using high-resolution kinetic stitching technology for greater control and precision on ball contact.
