Following the success of this initial launch last October, the German brand Puma – which continues to grow in the world of football, whether through technological innovations in its products or via its innovative and cutting-edge marketing strategies – has once again made a splash in the football boot market with one of the lightest football boots in history: the Puma Ultra SL.
Puma Ultra SPEED SE football boots
These new Puma Ultra SL football boots feature a modern design in a combination of white, green and black. The upper features a graphic design in two main colours, green and black, whilst the inner tongue and sole are entirely white.
In terms of design, one of the details that caught our eye most when comparing this new version with the original is the fact that the new version features no detail that directly references the Rimac brand, as this colour scheme is entirely inspired by the legendary colours of the Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights are an optical phenomenon consisting of a glow observed in the night skies of the polar regions, resulting from the impact of solar wind particles on the Earth’s upper atmosphere, channelled by the Earth’s magnetic field.
Upper
The upper of the new Ultra SL is constructed using the same technologies as the standard version of the Puma Ultra FG/AG: a MATRYXEVO fabric made from reactive Kevlar and carbon fibres, arranged to provide the player with greater support and grip during all types of movement on the pitch. This material is also covered with a very thin TPU overlay that increases the boot’s durability. The upper’s design is finished with a super-aerodynamic touch, entirely inspired by the bodywork of the Rimac, which means these boots weigh just 90 grams.
Sole
The outsoles of these new Ultra SL boots are exactly the same as those of the first edition in terms of their features. They feature an FG/AG studded outsole made entirely from PEBAX, and their key feature is the design and configuration of the studs, which are intended to boost speed and acceleration for all players.
