Following recent successes with reissues, such as the 2006 adidas F50 football boots and the adidas Predator Accelerator, the German brand adidas is once again surprising us with a new reissue of one of its most iconic Predator ranges. This time, the chosen model is the Predator Mania 2002, that famous red football boot with grey detailing that David Beckham wore that same year.
The adidas Predator Mania 2002 remake
This is not a new colourway, but rather an updated reissue of the iconic 2002 Predator model, known worldwide for having been worn by English footballer David Beckham. The upper will be virtually identical to that of the original 2002 model, with red taking centre stage and all the detailing finished in a silvery-grey shade.
This 2019 remake features an upper very similar to that of the original boot, combining natural leather with synthetic leather. It also retains the traditional, classic-style inner tongue with elastic for improved support and the characteristic asymmetrical fastening of the Predator boots from that era. The only major difference and update in this reissue lies in the outsole, as the 2019 version features the same outsole found on the most modern Predator models – in this case, the adidas Predator 19+.
As this is a limited edition with a very small production run, you’ll need to be quick if you want to get your hands on a pair. Leave us a comment telling us which classic football boot model you’d like to see reissued next.
