The colours chosen for this collection reflect this through the use of different shades of green, symbolising the Bondy neighbourhood. These feature on the upper in a lighter shade, which blends with gold – chosen for various distinctive elements, such as the Swoosh, the letters of his name on the right boot and the stars on the left boot, symbolising victory in the 2018 World Cup.
As Mbappé himself says: “Bondy will always be in my heart; this is where I fell in love with football. My neighbourhood has shaped me as a person and as a player. I have so much to thank Bondy for; it means a great deal to me that Bondy is taking centre stage in this collection.” Kylian Mbappé concludes with a statement that is very common amongst many young people like him: “Back then I had my heroes, and many of them already had their own special-edition Nike football boots. So the fact that I can now have my own exclusive Nike boot is like a dream come true.”

Nike Mercurial Superfly VII Elite – Bondy Dreams
This high-end football boot features a design that combines a primary grey base with various shades of green and gold. In terms of design, this is an unusual design for Nike, as it incorporates shapes and patterns like this for a futuristic look, clearly inspired by the young French player’s mindset. Despite the greater prominence of the green hue, which clearly represents Mbappé’s rise to the top from his neighbourhood of Bondy in northern Paris – also depicted on the toe cap with the number 93. 93 is the administrative code for Seine-Saint-Denis in France, the area in which Mbappé’s hometown, Bondy, is located. The area is often referred to simply as the ‘93’. We can see that the gold colour plays a more prominent role, as it features in the distinctive details. We see the Nike logos, as well as Mbappé’s official logo on the right boot, which consists of two stars. These two stars represent France’s victories in world football.
This limited-edition version does not feature any new innovations, as it will be technologically identical to its predecessors.
