New Mizuno football boots to round off this strange season and usher in the next one for those of us who aren’t professional footballers. The Japanese brand Mizuno has the privilege of being one of the most highly regarded brands by everyone who tries its products, which are handcrafted by artisans. True gems for the football pitch. We could talk for hours on end about what we think lies behind everything Mizuno stands for, about everything the Japanese brand deserves and more, about everything it truly deserves. Normally, the general public completely ignores this brand. Mind you, we don’t blame you, as behind it there are no world-class players linked to it, no merchandising, nor as much financial clout as the brands we all know have.
Reach Beyond Pack by Mizuno Football
We’re talking about Mizuno’s new Reach Beyond collection. Whatever the Japanese brand does, it’s always done with a purpose, with a soul. The slogan behind this collection is concise and to the point: ‘Reach Beyond’. Designed for everyone who takes part in and believes in the value of sport, Mizuno is a brand that offers superior sports equipment, designed to bring happiness and joy to everyone through the power of sport. We know that playing sport is a journey, and we are committed to creating the highest quality products you need throughout that journey, regardless of who you are, which sport you enjoy, or what level you play at. Reach Beyond expresses our strong desire to constantly move forward.
Mizuno Morelia Neo β III Elite Reach Beyond
The Japanese brand has carved out its own unique style when it comes to producing football boots and futsal shoes, crafting them by hand using traditional methods in its small factory in Osaka, whilst never losing sight of innovation and boldness – as demonstrated by the Mizuno Rebula 3 football boot, which embodies complexity and technology taken to the extreme. The leather used in Mizuno football boots is simply sublime, making the Japanese brand the best at working with leather of all the brands. Mizuno’s ‘MADE IN JAPAN’ is synonymous with a winning horse.
The upper of this Morelia, made in Japan, is what really justifies its ‘high price’; we make no secret of the fact that these may well be the most expensive football boots around. Unlike the Indonesian-made version, the quality of this leather is strikingly apparent. The feel of it, and how quickly this football boot moulds to your foot.
It’s worth noting that the forefoot features one of the finest kangaroo leathers available today, covering the entire striking area, providing simply perfect touch and comfort, as well as a lightness rarely seen in boots using these materials. Thanks to this relatively thin layer of leather, making these clearly speed football boots, even more so in the case of the Mizuno Morelia Neo III Beta, a boot that is much lighter than the traditional ‘Made in Japan’ version. Let’s not forget to mention the stitching that runs across this entire area to prevent the leather from stretching excessively and losing its shape.
A new feature is the β Knit in the instep and heel areas, a yarn that blends seamlessly with the leather and secures the foot within the boot, allowing you to execute every movement with precision. This is integrated with the new, extremely lightweight β Mesh, which starts from the midfoot. The boot combines the most advanced materials with top-tier performance and ultra-lightweight construction. This delivers the perfect, soft touch on the ball to take your game to the next level.
Turning our attention to the sole, it’s the classic design, featuring a Pebax plate with a traditional lug pattern: 13 rounded studs, except for the central one, which is a laminated stud designed to aid running. These studs are really firm and offer a good option for those of you who want a lightweight boot with more traditional support without sacrificing traction when running. There are also flex zones to ensure the boot bends ‘where it’s meant to bend’, as well as a detail at the front: two reinforcement rivets on the toe cap, which are sure to help prevent that part from coming away easily – a common problem, especially for players who switch between natural and artificial grass. An interesting detail of the external heel counter is its design, as this ‘buttress’ in the heel is made from two densities of Pebax: a thinner, softer material at the top and a stiffer (high-density) material as we move downwards, providing exceptional support when running.
