The Spanish national team’s adidas jerseys for the EURO are now a reality. Following the launch of the adidas Uniforia, the new EURO match ball, it seemed certain that a flood of official national team jerseys was imminent, but following the global crisis, everything came to a standstill.

As we have mentioned, the national team’s new jersey has been the subject of controversy, as the inspiration behind it and its design have sparked a wide range of opinions.

A fresh take on a classic design. Spain’s new EURO jersey features an original artwork, hand-painted in deep shades of red and burgundy as an abstract celebration of the national flag. When creating the original artwork that inspired the design, the designers at adidas took a unique approach, breaking the flag down into individual pixels and reassembling it in a refreshed colour palette that is seen on the final jersey.

To mark the competition’s 60th anniversary, the EURO will be held across 12 countries. To celebrate, adidas has created a special commemorative badge to feature on every match jersey. The text on these badges is written in the host country’s language, and their shape corresponds to the outline of the stadium where the match will take place.
