A new collection that is a treat for fans and players alike. Nike’s new football boots are taking centre stage this September, a busy month for brands. It’s a busy time of year, as alongside the usual player signings by the teams, the brands must also put their best foot forward to tackle this new, unusual season. This means that Nike has finally officially launched its latest collection, known as the Flash Crimson Pack, featuring striking new designs exclusively for the Mercurial Vapor XIII, Superfly VII and Tiempo Legend VIII.
Flash Crimson Pack – Nike's colour history
Let’s start by talking about the design, as personally, I’ve been really impressed by it. For the Mercurial Vapor and Superfly, this is the perfect opportunity to show off that Swoosh-shaped lightning bolt in all its glory, with very few distractions: it’s large, bold and stands out against the side of the boot against that crisp white background. That striking crimson colour fades as it wraps from the outer to the inner side, transitioning to the ‘Hyper Jade’ colourway. This transition is most effectively executed on the lower section, with the effect perfectly showcased on the split sole.
For the “classic” Tiempo, the same white and crimson colour scheme is used, presented in the usual style, which is more subdued compared to the Mercurial. There is no Swoosh-shaped lightning bolt here, but there is the traditional elongated wrap-around design that ran along the side around the heel. Furthermore, the sole takes on the crimson colour of the upper, rounding off a fairly standard look for the classic silo. Certainly standard, one might say, when placed alongside the Mercurial, at any rate.

We continue with the most classic yet modern design, and it is none other than the Nike Tiempo football boots, as seeing a classic-style boot in these colours always catches the eye. The white and crimson colour scheme runs across the kangaroo leather, with the detailing reserved for the back. A look that is sure to turn heads.
Sergio Ramos’ football boots, or Gerard Piqué’s football boots, are a real treat, as they perfectly combine classic materials—being made of kangaroo leather—with a synthetic heel counter that not only reduces the weight but also provides an excellent fit for a leather boot. The sole features ‘Hyperstability’ technology, which, as the name suggests, maintains stability with every step. The quintessential Nike style with colours that really stand out.

The Flyknit construction of these boots is simply outstanding and provides a truly superior fit. The grip on these boots is incredibly aggressive, allowing sprinters to give their all in every race; Cristiano Ronaldo and Mbappé’s boots are once again at the top of the football boot rankings.
And this is Nike’s groundbreaking new look, which really stands out on the pitch. Special mention goes to the Mercurial, which we love a little bit more every time we see it, and which is made even more special by the ‘lightning bolt’ detail featured in this story. Is this your absolute favourite Mercurial?
