2020 Puma Eclipse Pack

For several years now, black football boots have ceased to be a niche item in the sea of colours we’re used to seeing, and have returned to the forefront with various collections from all the brands. Puma football boots are no exception and, as always at the start of the year, the brand is relaunching an all-black collection for all lovers of classic colours; and for those of you looking for something a bit more up-to-date, there’s the Puma Spark Pack.

Technical features: Puma Eclipse Pack 2020

The first to feature this striking ‘blackout’ design are the new Puma Future football boots – one of the best boots of 2019 – which are finally being given a black finish. This colourway covers the entire surface of the boot, from the Puma collar to the Netfit and the synthetic overlay that provides the Future’s signature grip.

We see greyish details on the Puma logos, both the PumaCat and the Future emblem visible on the ankle. However, the most eye-catching feature – which is always the case with a football boot, no matter how black it may be – is found on the outsole, where the Rapidagility technology is coloured black with grey in a distinct camouflage-style pattern, a signature Puma design. A completely dark yet striking look that we’re sure will win over all fans of Puma football boots.

Puma One welcomes black

Let’s move on to the other boot, which has just undergone a minor restyling in 2020 and which we’re finally seeing in all black – whereas in previous ‘blackout’ packs, there was always at least one more colourful detail.

Black covers the entire kangaroo leather panel on the side of these Puma ONE football boots and blends seamlessly with the SprintWeb on the other side, combining the best of both worlds beneath a simply perfect black finish. The outsole also features this greyish tone, but in a much more subtle and translucent way, allowing the black to shine through as if it were a reflection of the moon – a stunning finish. Technologically, the RapidSprint system remains, a technology that combines conical and laminated studs, providing perfect traction whilst running, particularly thanks to the pronounced traction arches.

And this is Puma’s new pack: its two silos bathed entirely in a very, very deep black – so much so that we can say we’re looking at Puma’s blackest boots to date. Equally elegant and dark.
