With the arrival of the new adidas X SpeedFlow football boots, the German brand has expanded its fastest range to include more players, adding a new, improved upper to an already outstanding plate – resulting in a superb boot across every model. Let’s take a look at them all.

adidas X SpeedFlow.4 football boots

We’ll start with the entry-level range, designed primarily for boys and girls who are just starting out in the sport. It features a wider last and a more durable upper, built to withstand countless matches.

When it comes to the sole, there are options to suit every need, including turf versions such as the new FxG sole, which, with a mix of laminated studs in different configurations, provides excellent traction on all types of playing surfaces. A great speed boot, particularly for beginners.

Next up in this range, it features a synthetic microfibre upper that somewhat replicates the knitted weave found in the top-of-the-range model. It is slightly wider and less form-fitting than the Plus version, and also comes in a lace-free option.

This addition is a real hit, as it allows us to try out a laceless boot without having to go for the top-of-the-range model. As for the sole, we once again have a TPU plate, with various stud configurations. We already have the FG plate, which replicates the high-end distribution, as well as Turf versions and an MG edition, which stands for ‘Multiground’ and is suitable for different types of pitches – something that is much appreciated in this type of range.

Moving on to adidas’ mid-range range, we already notice a new change. The upper features a slightly softer microfibre with a slightly more refined fit. The synthetic microfibre replicates the weave of the high-end range’s knit fabric, and offers a bit more grip on the ball than the lower-end ranges.

As for the outsole, there are more options available, such as the MG and the FG. The truth is that, although the Multiground is excellent in this range, we particularly like the FG, as it feels made from a more responsive and refined material, and features a design similar to that of the top-of-the-range models. A real winner

And here we come to one of the German brand’s top-of-the-range boots; this is the laced version, so to speak, and it’s the boot that players such as Salah, Lingard and Leo Messi will be wearing. The upper is slightly more structured than on the Plus version and features laces.

As for the sole, we have the same one we’ve seen on previous X Ghosted models, with the now-famous inclusion of Carbitex and the triad stud configuration, which is a true masterpiece on this new SpeedFrame plate.

We also stock various versions of this product, including options for artificial grass and mixed-use surfaces for soft ground, as well as a high-quality Turf version.

We round off with the brand’s fastest lace-free boot from the Elite range – a boot that’s truly sensational. The upper has been redesigned and is made entirely from Primeknit, offering greater softness and a better feel.

The outsole remains unchanged, carrying over from the Speedflow 1 version – a true technological marvel that is simply perfect. And this is the full range of the adidas X SpeedFlow; adidas’s fastest boots are also available across different price points, offering a variety of options in terms of studs and styles. A real success story, with a fast boot in every range.
