As every year, Halloween is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals, especially for children who can’t wait to go from house to house trick-or-treating.
However, over the years, many have taken the opportunity to express their creativity, drawing inspiration from this celebration. We see this in the world of football too, where, for some years now, brands have been experimenting with Halloween-themed colourways and products that are a bit different from the usual. And this year is no exception, as we see how Nike has come up with a truly terrifying Phantom GT.
Phantom GT Schockwave
The name of this new colour scheme is “Schockwave”. The main colours are neon green, metallic grey and black, which, when blended together, perfectly capture the concept the American brand has sought to convey. We like to think that this colour scheme is inspired by Halloween, but above all by one of the characters most closely associated with this festival: the Hulk. If you think about it, it all fits! The colours are the same for both the superhero and the boots, as is the concept: shockwaves that alter a man’s DNA, turning him into a superman, just like the Nike Phantom GT Schockwave boots that will turn you into a monster of a player.
In terms of technology, there are no changes whatsoever. As with the other colourways, the boot is made entirely from Flyknit with a Generative Texture overlay – an ultra-thin layer of gel that enhances grip when in contact with the ball. The laces, which are positioned further outwards, allow for a much cleaner strike. Finally, the outsole consists of two plates—one at the back and one at the front—connected by a bridge shifted outwards. Do you like Nike’s new colourway? We honestly think it’s absolutely brilliant, making this my favourite Phantom GT. ⚽👻
