Brand new: Phantom Gt Scorpion

We’re nearing the end of the month, and some brands want to finish it off in style. This is certainly true of Nike, which has just announced the new Nike Phantom GT Scorpion today. Let’s find out what it’s all about.

There are just two days left until the end of the month, and Nike wanted to round it off in style. And that’s exactly what they’ve done. The brand has just unveiled the new Phantom GT, although they won’t be available to buy until the 2nd of November. Nike has sought to bridge the past and the present, and today we’ll explain why.

As you know, the Phantom GT is Nike’s latest model – a pair of football boots that have only been on the market for a short while, but which we’ve already seen in several colourways: in white, in black, and also as part of the Tech Craft Pack, made from leather. This time, however, Nike has sought to link the present with its history. The more observant among you will have quickly spotted a small detail: the scorpion on the outside of the boot.

This is a reference to one of Nike’s most iconic adverts, which featured a secret football tournament played inside a cage – a competition with a distinctly underground vibe. At the start of the advert, a group of players appeared wearing hoods to keep the secret, alongside a football placed next to a scorpion. That is the inspiration behind this new Phantom, and that is precisely what the American brand wanted its most loyal fans to relive.

Moving on to the boot itself, we find a new colourway which we really like and which we think fits perfectly with the shape and character of this model.

The main colour is a silver-grey that gives it a very aggressive look and perfectly evokes the colours and philosophy of that historic advert. There are also black details covering the entire sole, along with some touches of yellow that stand out against the other colours and appear, for example, in the Phantom GT lettering.

In terms of technology, there are no changes. We still have the same boot as always: an upper made from Flyknit, which is very light and flexible; ACC (All Conditions Control) technology, which guarantees maximum grip in both dry and wet conditions; and finally, a sole inspired by the original Total 90, with a stud configuration that offers excellent traction on the pitch.

It has to be the best colour combination we’ve seen so far on the Phantom GTs. What do you think?

They’ll be available to buy on the Fútbol Emotion website from the 2nd of November.
