In today’s blog post, we’re going to take a look at the football boots most commonly worn by forwards. Naturally, we’ll be considering all types of forwards: centre-forwards, wingers and also those forwards who operate deeper in the pitch, to ensure we have a comprehensive overview.

PHANTOM GT

We couldn’t leave out the new Phantom GTs, boots that have won over many footballers, particularly numerous strikers such as Lewandowski and Lautaro Martínez, among many others. Both strikers switched from the Phantom Venom to the Phantom GT, a significant generational change which they have, however, rated very highly. These are very soft and comfortable boots, made from Flyknit, an extremely stretchy material. They are also available in two versions: one with a Dynamic Fit Collar and one without, to suit each player’s preferences.

PUMA FUTURE

Next up are the Puma Future boots, which can be seen on the feet of players such as Luis Suárez and Marco Reus, strikers for Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund respectively. They are also extremely comfortable boots that fit the foot perfectly. They are made from synthetic materials and feature Netfit technology, a lacing system that allows each player to customise the fit to suit their needs. What’s more, they feature an FG/AG sole suitable for both natural grass and state-of-the-art artificial turf.

NIKE MERCURIAL

The best-selling football boots of all time, worn by Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé and many other players. The Mercurial is probably the most iconic boot on the market and also one of the most popular among strikers. These are technologically advanced boots, made from Flyknit, a very lightweight and elastic material. They also feature ACC technology and a two-piece outsole, with a front and rear section. Finally, they are available in both high-top and low-top versions.

ADIDAS COPA

We finish with the most classic boots of all: the adidas Copa. A model worn by strikers of exceptional technical ability such as Paulo Dybala, João Félix and Papu Gómez – three players with similar characteristics who combine their talent with the performance of these boots. On their feet are boots made from high-quality leather, capable of moulding perfectly to the shape of the foot. They also feature a highly elastic knitted fabric panel that makes it easier to slip the foot in and improves the boot’s overall comfort.
