In recent training sessions, we have seen several key players wearing Nike Tiempo football boots in an all-black design, in what appears to be a prototype model about which we had no prior information.
From what we can see, the upper is very sleek, made from a material that, judging by the texture, is undoubtedly genuine leather. However, there is some texture visible on the front and back sections, although we can’t make out any specific pattern.
Judging by the padding visible in the last photo, it appears to be a boot with foam inserts or some form of reinforcement in the impact zone; it isn’t as aggressive as other boots, but it does seem designed to reinforce that area.
In terms of fit, this is a really sleek football boot that hugs the foot, and although we have no way of knowing for sure, it feels incredibly light. The central lacing system also confirms that the aim is a comfortable, snug fit.
As for the sole, there is nothing in particular to highlight, as the studs are barely visible, except for those at the rear, where we can see some rather long studs, which could well be laminated or circular with a different finish. Therefore, as far as the soleplate is concerned, it’s all a mystery.
And the images don’t reveal much else; the truth is that seeing three Tiempo players training in all-black boots only serves to whet our appetite for a new boot release from the American brand. Could this be the moment for a new Nike Tiempo? For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
