Nike Tiempo Legend 8: ‘camo’ is back at Nike

We’d spotted several players wearing this model, but it never actually made it onto the pitch. It seems Nike has listened to its fans and has finally decided to launch this spectacular model as part of its new Nike Tiempo Legend 8 range.

Just a couple of months ago, ahead of the launch of the Nike Tiempo Legend 8, we spotted Piqué, Ramos and Van Dijk wearing ‘camo’ boots – which we thought was a new way for the American brand to keep the new design or prototypes of its new football boots under wraps. The truth is that, although the design didn’t reveal any of the boot’s technologies or details, it won over all Nike fans, and everyone was keen to see these boots hit the market.

A few months on, Nike has listened to its fans and is launching this spectacular camouflage design which, we can now confirm, ‘conceals’ its latest release: the Nike Tiempo Legend 8 Elite football boots, the kangaroo leather model that we can already see on the feet of many players who love the Tiempo feel.

Many of you will be wondering, then, what the differences are between this camouflage and the typical green-based camouflage – a pattern which, incidentally, we’d already seen across all of Nike’s ranges back in 2016 with an absolutely stunning ‘Nike Camo Pack’. The truth is that, as we’ve already explained, this type of camouflage – known as ‘razzle dazzle’ – which blends shades of black and white across the entire surface of the boot, dates back to the First World War, where it was used to create visual distortion, making it more difficult to estimate a target’s range, speed and direction.

The camouflage pattern extends across the entire upper and, in a technological showcase, also across the sole, making this one of the few models where the pattern or design from the upper is replicated on the outsole as well. From a technical standpoint, there are no differences compared to the standard Nike Tiempo 8 Legend.

And these are Nike’s new ‘camo’ boots; the truth is that they give one of their most classic boots a truly groundbreaking and modern look, proving once again that it is possible to have modern kangaroo leather boots that are tailored to the needs of today’s game. This is a limited edition, so only a few pairs will be available in selected shops – as always, Futbol Emotion is one of them – so you’ll have to be quick if you want to be among the few who’ll get to bring the ‘razzle dazzle’ style onto the pitch.
