The star of today’s Liga Portugal Bwin match is once again Vitória’s Marcus Edwards. The England Under-20 international is one of the standout players in the Guimarães-based side and continues to make the most of one of the most eye-catching boots in the Mercurial Dream Speed range.

Pepe - FC Porto

The Portuguese-Brazilian player for the blue and white team wore boots from the English brand Umbro for several years. Only recently, perhaps after his contract with the brand ended, have we seen the FC Porto player wearing other models. Currently, Pepe keeps up with the latest releases from the German brand adidas, particularly the adidas Predator Freak.1 Low, which raises the question of whether he might have some sort of agreement with adidas to receive boots, as he remains one of the leading figures in Portuguese and international football.

Sebastián Coates - Sporting CP

We are not entirely sure which model the Uruguayan Sporting CP player was wearing previously, as we’ve seen him on several occasions over the last few months wearing different boots, both in matches for the Lisbon-based team and for his national side. However, in recent weeks there has been a certain consistency, particularly with the Nike Phantom GT2 from the Motivation Pack. As a result, the American brand scores points by getting an international-level player to wear a pair of Phantom GTs, boots which are very well made but have not yet fully won over the Portuguese public.
