Before we begin, we’d like to point out that this is our TOP LIST/RANKING, so many of you will probably disagree with our choices. Even so, we’d love to hear all your views, so don’t forget to leave a comment at the end of the blog post.
5. Lotto Solista 200
The boot with which Lotto made a spectacular return to the world of football. This low-cut version offers a level of comfort and quality very similar to that of the top-of-the-range, laceless version. However, we’re big fans of low-profile football boots, and our choice is also down to its one-piece upper, made entirely from seamless knit fabric, which makes the boot very soft and lightweight. In the midsole, we can see that the external heel counter is positioned perfectly to ensure maximum stability, alongside an internal microfibre panel that provides the right amount of support for the foot. The foam midsole completes the package to deliver optimum comfort.
4. adidas X 19+
Its new upper has made the boot more suitable for different foot shapes and, in our view, also much more comfortable. This new upper is made from a single piece of Skeletalwave microfibre, developed with the aim of minimising the boot’s weight and making it much slimmer than its predecessor. One of the aspects on which adidas places particular emphasis is the heel, both on the inside and outside, as it is one of the most important elements of this range. When we talk about the sole, we’re talking about the heart of this boot. adidas uses a new plate called Speedframe, inspired by the origins of the well-known Sprintframe and characterised by its strength and lightness.
3. Nike Mercurial Superfly VII Pro
This boot goes straight into our TOP list thanks to the work of the American brand Nike. By using Flyknit for the upper, Nike has equipped this boot with a material that, until now, was only found in the highest-end and most exclusive ranges. This new Mercurial upper features a new Flyknit weave that enhances ball control compared to the previous model. Thanks to this new weave, the American brand has incorporated an inner layer that acts as a structural support, keeping the foot fully secured and wrapped.
2. Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII Elite
The new generation of the Vapor features an upper made from a new Flyknit fabric that enhances ball feel compared to the previous generation. ACC technology remains a key feature, and a synthetic NikeSkin layer covers the entire surface to protect the Flyknit fabric. At the heart of this boot lies its new two-piece modular outsole, which allows Nike to minimise weight whilst enhancing functionality. The studs in the metatarsal area provide traction when the player reaches high speeds, whilst the heel studs aid in braking and provide stability.
1. Puma Future 5.1
Puma has gone all out on football this year, and the truth is that this strategy is paying off. A prime example of this is the launch of the Puma Future 5.1, a fantastic pair of boots that have been completely redesigned and updated. Puma’s major innovation undoubtedly lies in the boot’s upper. This is no ordinary boot with a textile upper: over this fabric lies Netfit technology, a mesh that covers the entire surface and allows the player to adjust the laces to suit them best. The internal heel counter and Netfit technology are what make fit and stability the standout features of this boot. It is suitable for both wide and narrow feet, thanks to the endless lacing options offered by the Netfit mesh.
