Inter Milan have finally been crowned Italian champions after a long and wonderful season; Crotone and Parma have unfortunately been relegated, leaving a spot open in the relegation zone; and, finally, many other teams are still battling it out for European places. We also saw plenty of players wearing unusual football boots this weekend – let’s get straight into the analysis!
Çalhanoğlu
The Turkish player, having spent virtually the entire season with Nike, has decided to give the fashion brand – Puma – a try. He has opted for the lightest boot, the Puma Ultra, which in terms of functionality are reminiscent of the old Nike boots worn by Milan’s number 10. We had already seen him trying out these boots in training, but until now never during a match. We’ll see if he sticks with Puma to play in the European Championship with this brand as well.
Lukaku
The King of Milan took to the pitch once again wearing a pair of boots different from his usual ones – a model we’d already seen him wearing at the start of this season. We’re talking, of course, about the Nike Phantom GT. The Belgian has returned to the latest boot released by Nike, opting for the very first colourway. They’re likely the same boots we saw him wearing at the start of the season. We still can’t quite fathom what’s going through his mind, but the only thing we’re sure of is that he can’t make up his mind about which boot to wear.
Villar
The talented Spanish midfielder, following Donnarumma’s lead, has decided to try out a new adidas model. Just like the Rossoneri goalkeeper, Villar has switched from wearing the Predator Freak to the adidas Copa, a boot that’s driving everyone wild. In both cases, the Spaniard has opted for the laceless version to get a better feel for the ball. This choice was likely motivated by the comfort offered by the adidas leather boot, a sensation that many professional players seek.
