New Nike Small Sided Pack

Nike has lost almost all the ground it had gained in the world of futsal, and that’s something the brand is keen to rectify as soon as possible. To achieve this, they’ve pulled out all the stops, and as if the launch of the new Nike Street Gato shoes weren’t enough, today they’re unveiling a new colourway for all their models that’s sure to turn heads. 

The new Small Sided Pack delivers exactly that: a colour change without any technological updates, but one in which Nike’s futsal shoes take a step forward in terms of personality and appeal. The American brand’s strategy seems clear: to regain the visibility it enjoyed years ago, and what better way to do that than by dressing its four silos in eye-catching, easily recognisable colours on the pitch.

We’ll start by talking about the Nike React Tiempo futsal shoes. This boot range, originally designed for 11-a-side football, has adapted perfectly to 5-a-side football, and Nike are well aware of this. That’s why they’ve refined the range to create a boot that’s been completely redesigned for futsal and meets the demands of Tiempo players on the court.

An eye-catching design, featuring a striking blue colour combined with more black than white. All this is complemented by a striking sole where the word ‘Tiempo’, in the same colour as the rest of the boot, takes centre stage, just as the brand intended. The Nike React Tiempo futsal shoes deliver on their promises: comfort, support and versatility for the footballer.

Next up is the lightest boot in the Gato range: the Nike React Gato futsal shoes. Designed for agile, dynamic players, this boot was Nike’s big move to re-establish its presence in futsal by offering something different from what was already available, and the work that’s gone into it is clear to see.

In terms of design, this is perhaps the Nike futsal shoe that has changed the least in this new collection, as its lime green colour scheme is quite similar to the yellow of its predecessor. Even so, we can understand the American brand’s reasoning, as the Nike React Gato shoes suit this type of colour scheme very well, both in terms of their design and their essence.

And when we talk about futsal, and we talk about Nike, we have to mention the Nike Lunar Gato futsal shoes. The brand’s flagship range remains unchanged, which is hardly surprising, as it doesn’t need any technological updates. Many brands have drawn inspiration for their models from the Nike Lunar Gato futsal shoes; after all, if you’re a fan of the sport and play it regularly, you’ll know exactly the standard of shoe we’re talking about.

For this Small Sided Pack, the Lunar Gato has taken a somewhat understated approach on the inside, where black dominates the leather section; but if we move to the synthetic outer section, a riot of colours, alongside the yellow Swoosh, breaks up the sombre black and brings a touch of cheer to Nike’s flagship model.

Finally, we’ll be talking about the latest addition to the Gato family: the Nike Street Gato futsal shoes. This redesigned model from the American brand, which has only been around for a week, was originally released in two rather sombre, muted colours, though that doesn’t mean they don’t look great on the shoes. But for this new collection, the Street Gato comes in white, and personally, we think they’re the best-looking of the three we know of.

For the swoosh on the Nike Steet Gato futsal shoes, the brand has chosen a beautiful shade of blue, which pairs perfectly with the white base and the black detailing on the rest of the boot. One area worth highlighting is the tongue and laces, which are lime green – a shade that stands out from the rest of the boot but adds a fresh, carefree touch.
