New in: Puma One 20.1

The first thing we need to highlight is the essence of the Puma One, as it is a boot that straddles two completely different worlds. We say this because it falls into the category of both natural leather football boots and synthetic boots, featuring a hybrid upper that combines top-quality kangaroo leather with a very lightweight synthetic microfibre section. Consequently, this boot brilliantly combines the best of both worlds, offering the lightness and fit typical of a synthetic football boot, alongside the supreme elegance and touch of a leather boot.

And in keeping with this spirit, we have a new Puma One 20.1 football boot for 2020, which, although at first glance it may appear unchanged, features two notable changes compared to the previous generation.

The changes we’ve made focus on the upper and on improving an already excellent boot. To this end, we can see that the finish of the synthetic section, known as Sprintweb, has been modified. This modification is evident on the synthetic side of the boot, where the entire weave of the upper is now much finer and more subtle – something we’re sure to notice in terms of grip and the boot’s overall structure.

Now we come to the biggest change to Kun Agüero’s boots, as the natural leather section has undergone a significant change in its structure. Puma has chosen to fit its leather boots with an internal cage, which prevents the leather from deforming or stretching, without the need for any seams. This means there are no holes from the seams on the boot and also gives it an even cleaner look.

This cage is an improvement on the previous generation and gives us an even better fit without putting too much strain on the skin. It’s a brilliant solution that we’ve been seeing for a long time and, like everything Puma does, it works.

As for the sole, this remains unchanged and retains the RapidSprint technology, which, as we know, provides excellent grip in all conditions on the pitch. And these are all the changes brought about by this minor redesign of the One range, ensuring that Puma football boots continue to offer that excellent quality across all their models.
