It seems that vintage or retro fashion is adidas' first choice. In recent years, the German brand has shown its commitment to an aesthetic inspired by the jerseys and kits of the 80s and 90s, where the patterns were iconic and highly recognisable. Looking at the latest releases for 2022, for example, we can see how adidas has hit the nail on the head with this trend, reaching an increasingly wider audience. After the Arsenal jersey and the Teamgeist capsule collection (a spectacular collection inspired by the legendary design of the 2006 season), it is now Manchester United's turn.
A few days before the official presentation of the new jersey for the 22/23 season, adidas wanted to get Red Devils fans excited with a retro collection featuring two game jerseys: one for field players and one for goalkeepers. Although the football season has been a complete disaster, adidas has managed to restore some enthusiasm to one of the most historic English clubs of all time.
The kit features electric red on both the front and back with a subtle chiaroscuro pattern. The collection includes the adidas Originals logo alongside the club's crest and, of course, the three adidas stripes running from the collar to the sleeves, edged in white. For the goalkeeper's jersey, on the other hand, a combination of black and green has been chosen, alternating in irregular vertical stripes.
These two jerseys are accompanied by many other items such as sweatshirts, T-shirts and accessories (caps, among others) that complete the collection. I remind you that, of course, you can purchase them on the Fútbol Emotion website.
